Stanley Tang, also from China, and Evan Moore, from the United Kingdom, moved to the U.S. to pursue their studies at Stanford University, where the three met and joined forces to launch a company that would revolutionize the way people experience food delivery.  Their idea was born out of a simple observation:  how could they make it easier for people to get the food they love, even if they could not go out to pick it up themselves?
What started as a small project at Stanford University quickly turned into a massive business that now operates in over 4,000 cities across the U.S.  As of 2023, DoorDash has grown to employ over 5,000 full-time employees, with hundreds of thousands of independent contractors (Dashers) delivering food across the country.  This expansion has not only created thousands of jobs but also provided a vital service to millions of customers.
