Julia is the Managing Partner of the Law Office of Julia L. Stommes. She has practiced immigration law for over 30 years. Her expertise is counseling start-ups through Fortune 1000 companies on all aspects of their business immigration issues. She specializes in E-2 investor visas. In addition, she has prepared and filed hundreds of H-1B, L-1, TN, E-3, and PERM Labor Certification Applications. Moreover, she counsels Foreign Nationals on their overall immigration strategy and planning, providing them with Consultations and/or Second Opinions from their employer's primary immigration counsel and/or advising on strategies or alternatives when separating with current employers. She advises US Citizens with Foreign National fiances/fiancees and/or spouses with short-term and long-term planning, and US Citizen/Permanent Resident couples with their immigration and residency planning when transfers from the US to abroad arise.
Julia formerly was Of Counsel with Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP in its San Francisco Office. She has run her own immigration boutique law firm for over 16 years. She was a Partner at Duane Morris, LLP in its San Francisco Office; a Partner in the Dallas Office of FisherBroyles, LLP; a Partner at Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP in Dallas; and a Senior Associate for Baker McKenzie, where she managed the Dallas Immigration Practice. She began her legal career as an Associate at Jenkens & Gilchrist, P.C. in Dallas. |
